Newage
Cables was established in 1956 Lahore (Pakistan) as
a private company for manufacturing of house wiring
cables. Through its policy of continuous expansion
and improvement, Newage cables has emerged as the
largest cable manufacturer in Pakistan and the 1st
in its category to be accredited with ISO 9001 certification
and has also developed other allied manufacturing
facilities.
Introduction
The plant of Newage Cables is located at the 18th
Km, Lahore-Sheikhupura Road, Lahore and is spread
over and area of 22 Acres. The equipment for the manufacturing
and testing is maintained in excellent condition to
ensure the product quality at all stages of manufacturing.
Motivated technical staff and qualified engineers
are available to assist their valued customers in
the selection of proper material.
Newage today is geared-up in continuation of supplying its quality products and services to its esteemed clients and its cordial team looks forward to serve you with the high level of services and assure you of its best attention at all given opportunities.
For lighting and general use, we
manufacture General Wiring Cables in the range of
450/750 Volts. These cables are manufactured in conformity
with national & international standards that provide
safety and savings in electricity consumption because
of the use of 99.90% pure copper, cable grade PVC
and thorough quality tests of every meter of cable.
To cater to the requirements of Utilities, Projects
and Industries, Low voltage (LT) and High voltage
(HT) cables are manufactured which are subject to
rigorous in-house quality checks.

| Copper rods used in drawing
copper conductors are manufactured in Newage’s
in house copper rod mill. Imported copper having minimum
purity of 99.9% is used for rod manufacturing. Our standard
cables used plain annealed solid or standard copper
conductors conforming to BS 6360. Imperial and flexible
conductors are manufactured to BS 3360. |
| Insulation & Oversheath |
| Newage products supplied in
PVC insulation and sheath (where applicable) are manufactured
from PVC compounds produced at in-house PVC compounding
plant. House wiring cables are insulated with PVC type
1 conforming to Bs: 6746 standard and rated 70 degree
C. Regular insulation colors are red, yellow, blue,
black, and green and other colors are manufactured on
request. |

Newage Cables continuously reviews
and improves the effectiveness of its Quality Management
System in line with objectives of achieving higher
productivity, uncompromising quality and maximum customer
satisfaction.
At Newage, Quality Assurance is an integral part of
the order process and maintained from import of raw
materials, order entry and manufacture through to
testing, packaging and shipping. All Quality Assurance
procedures are regularly audited by international
standards organizations and all routine testing is
carried out according to standard
To ensure adequacy and effectiveness of the quality
system, management review is carried out periodically
on a continuing basis. The Steering Committee undertakes
the management review on a quarterly basis which comprises
of the Chief Executive as its Chairman along with
Marketing Managers, Technical Manager and Works Manager
as its members. The decisions of this review are recorded
and implemented by the concerned manager.
The maintenance of the quality management system is
achieved through the Internal Quality Audits. The
main purpose of the Quality Audit is to take necessary
corrective action to eliminate deviations and further
improve the system. The Quality Control Program for
Electrical Cables at Newage comprises of receiving
Inspection and Testing, in process Inspection and
Testing and final Inspection and Testing. Quality
Raw Materials are procured from pre qualified reputable
sources world wide.

These are subjected to tests in
our well equipped laboratory before releasing to the
Production Department for use. As the objective is
to prevent any nonconformity, considerable portion
of inspection man hours are spent on the production
floor where quality is build into the product. The
responsibility of producing quality product lies with
Production Department which exercises adequate process
control. The finished cable is then subjected to tests
as per standards.
